Transformers: Dark of the Moon video game trailer and images

New images and video trailer for Transformers: Dark of the Moon video game

Transformers: Dark of the Moon remains veiled in mystery. From the story to the new bots making their debut what will this third chapter reveal? While these questions will be resolved with the film the video game will also shed light, much light, on the story and background. Here are some new screenshots from the upcoming video game adaptation as well as a look at a new trailer. Enjoy and here are some thoughts.

Details on the Game – Straight from the developers here is what is new … “(the game) allows players to fight through the epic battles on Earth that will shape the events of the upcoming film. Armed with a brand-new gameplay mechanic, fans will harness the power of Stealth Force to instantly convert to a third, hybrid state that combines the weapons and firepower of robot mode with the agility and maneuverability of vehicle mode. Set in unique environments around the world such as the Jungles of South America, Siberian military facilities, Detroit Cityscapes and more, the game lets players assume the roles of a diverse roster of everyone's favorite TRANSFORMERS from the movie through a heart-pounding campaign to save mankind. Additionally, fans can play the game with or against their friends through intense, online multiplayer game modes as their favorite iconic characters.”

In a nutshell games will get all the in-movie characters and tons of extras re-imagined from the original toy lines, out of the box and as downloadable content.

What the Images Show – Bumblebee and Iron Hide with weapons blazing, nothing new there. Laserbeak looks interesting and nice to see two eyes where Ravage only had one. The Megatron drain image makes one wonder if his resurrection does not make him an energy vampire of sorts needing to drain sparks from other Transformers? Total speculation here while Starscream is seen flying.

What the Video Shows – Besides some sweet Peter Cullen voiceover work it shows many of the confirmed in-movie characters and a few that could be in-game only (tank = Combaticon?) and it shows off the ravaged city seen in the movie trailer. There are a handful of bots, assuming Autobots, ready to drip out of a large US military plane … the long awaited Aerialbots? The chains on Megatron are interesting and there for a reason, that reason is tbd. The jacked up Autobots is also interesting as Bumblebee looks all Twisted Metal while Prime brings out his inner Army of Darkness. How much is game only versus in movie is tbd but the game looks to build on the solid formula from the last few Transformers games.
